Practise naming engineering components

Naming a part on sight is a skill you either keep sharp or quietly lose. Every component below, from fasteners and bearings to hand tools, fittings and tooling, comes with a photograph, what the thing actually is, and the parts it gets confused with. Read them, or put what you know under a clock and play a round.

It is built for the people who need this vocabulary and rarely get drilled on it: mechanical engineering students walking into a first workshop or a first placement, engineers who spec parts daily but meet them mostly as line items on a drawing, and makers, machinists and technicians who want to put a proper name to what is already in the drawer.
