HOW TO RECOGNISE IT

A Pozidriv screw is identified by the four blunt ribs set at 45 degrees between the arms of its cross recess — the short spurs radiating from each corner of the slot. A Phillips head has the cross alone, with tapered slots that let the driver cam out under load; the extra ribs and parallel-sided slots of a Pozidriv exist precisely to stop that happening.
